May 5, Great book, and it is a Page Turner, which makes reading self-help truly fun and engaging since the "Trap Tales" are so real, and readers can relate easily on family relationship, finance, change management, focus-driven living, and the handling of procrastination, etc. I like this book a lot, since it is deep on David's Covey family philosophy built around the 7 Habits, yet it is a very practical book for practical read, well presented with wisdom and insights, but not too idealistic, theoretical or preachy. It does not have the old 7 Habits' tone, and David presented his points of views very convincingly with the co-author, providing "7 Traps" that we must avoid in life and work.
No one sets a goal to fail but sometimes obstacles get in the way of our progress. Here then are 7 obstacles to success and suggestions for overcoming their challenges. Does this describe you? You jump around from one project to another.
You have one hundred half finished projects laying around. Soon you give up believing the goal was unrealistic in the first place. You need to learn self-discipline. The first thing you want to do decide exactly what your objective is. The next thing is weed out all of your unfinished projects that will not assist you in achieving your goal.

Perfectionism You are a perfectionist. You need to learn to take a risk. Nothing is ever perfect. You have no way of knowing which improvements are needed until you put it out there for the world to see. It may be a matter of skipping a night out on the town or brown bagging it to work.
Most people can find a lot of money that they squander on wants each month instead of needs. You have to ask yourself what you want more.
If you have a great idea and need more money than you have — You may be able to get a loan or by doing some investigating you could be fortunate enough to find an investor for your project.
Fear What are you really afraid of? Do you feel unworthy of success? That they will envy you and turn on you? Are you afraid of criticism if you fail?
Or are you simply afraid of the unknown — How will success change your life? Before you can overcome fear, you need to figure out exactly what you are afraid of. Often times once you realize exactly what your fear is, it dissipates. You need to learn to be confident in your decisions.
Accept that you are not perfect but you are worthy of success. You have something of value to offer the world.
