Head boy letter Dear jonesy, I am applying for head boy as I feel that I am suited to the position and possess the necessary skills and qualities for the role. I have taken the time to attend several senior prefect meetings where I have learnt how the sixth form is run and understood the demands of head boy. Being head boy requires hard work, commitment, organisation, responsibility and leadership. I know I will enjoy taking on this responsibility and that I can meet these demands, and more.
I believe that to be a good Head Boy you need strong leadership skills. Alongside the PE Leadership programme, I also attend scouts once a week and am currently training to become a Young Leader.
A Scouts Young Leader role holds similar responsibilities to the Head Boy position, such as; helping with activities and organizing events, positively representing the community, establishing a line of communication with senior members, and being a good role model towards younger peers.
Together with leadership skills, I believe that the role of Head Boy requires excellent time management. Thrice weekly, I attend training for athletics sprinting, high jump and hurdles ; this shows dedication, responsibility and time management, as I must balance my school work with my training.
Occasionally during my athletics training, we are encouraged to devise and plan our own training session within a group; this demonstrates that I can manage a team of people and also delegate roles to my peers, identifying strengths and weaknesses in others for the benefit of the team.
Within athletics, I have managed to come first in North Warwickshire and, consequently, have proceeded to represent the team further. I am currently completing my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award, which I believe shows I can work well with others in any situation and that I am committed to spending my own time wisely in order to achieve a target.
I believe I am well liked by the staff and pupils and I am always respectful regarding what I say and do, a quality which I believe will be utilised within the Head Boy position.
I believe that St Thomas More has taught me plenty regarding friendship, embracing opportunities and how to make the most of a great education; the role of Head Boy is my chance to give something back to the school, and show how much this community and my teachers have done for me.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours Sincerely, A few little changes. Let me know if you have any questions.
